Laboratory Technician

Our client has a full time vacancy for a Laboratory Technician. You will join the Pharmaceutical Development and Support department in a purpose-built laboratory. The role is initially offered as a 2 year fixed term contract. Your role as a Laboratory Technician will involve the day-to-day support of both analytical and formulation development laboratories. Key responsibilities include: • Maintain fully functioning laboratories (e.g., operating glasswasher, disposal of solvent waste and ordering replacement consumables). • Maintain a fully functioning office (e.g., ordering supplies, arranging shipments, liaising with head office). • Perform routine equipment setup, calibration and maintenance (e.g. balances, pH meters, rheometer). • Manage inventory (e.g., raw materials, reference standards, solvents, glassware). • Perform various Health and Safety tasks (routine and audit actions). • Organise shipments of samples for analysis (including micro), equipment for calibration and waste for disposal. • Support with annual service visits. • Make routine stock solutions, reagents, and mobile phases. • Perform other routine tasks, as required, within the adjacent GMP pilot manufacturing facility. Key skills & attributes: • Good communication skills. • Well organized and motivated individual. • Ability to work equally well on own initiative or within small, dynamic teams • Computer literate: able to use Microsoft office, standard databases and online ordering systems. • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
