Business Development Consultant OEM

Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Business Development Consultant to drive OEM sales
growth. You will need to be winning OEM business through achieving end user Specification.

Main Tasks:

 Delivery of Engineering and Project Specification (CAPEX) (Planning & Preparation, Relationship Management, Guiding Dialogue, Exploring and Developing needs, Opportunity Selection, Proposing, Negotiating)
 Ensure long-term sales development of targeted users to achieve preferred supplier status through relationship building and deep understanding of customer objectives (Planning & Preparation, Relationship Management, Guiding Dialogue, Exploring and Development needs, Opportunity Selection, Proposing, Negotiating)
 Sales budget, growth and market share gain (Planning & Preparation, Exploring & Developing needs, Opportunity Selection)
 Produce, implement and maintain Account Development plans for sufficient accounts such that personal targets be achieved (Planning & Preparation, Relationship Management, Exploring & Developing needs, Opportunity Selection)
 Ensure contact network in all users and market stakeholders is fully developed (Relationship Management, Exploring & Developing needs)
 Ensure remaining potential (competitor business) is aggressively targeted using Lanchester principles (Professional & Technical, Planning & Preparation, Core- Communication)
 Identify, qualify and register new investment projects (Planning & Preparation, Opportunity Selection, Core -Company Awareness)
 Maintain accurate, current and relevant records, as requested, on such systems as are provided (Core – Company Awareness, Communication)
 Submit call data for all customer-related activity on Sales Connect after each call (Core – Company Awareness, Communication)
 Communicate all sales related instructions to Sales Management and Head Office via the correct process (Core – Communication + Core – Company Awareness)
Make profitable sales to customers through:
 Learning the customer’s business needs (Exploring and Developing Needs + Relationship Management)
 Selling value concepts (Exploring and Developing Needs + Proposing)
 Building one-to-one relationships with target user contacts (Relationship Management + Exploring and Developing Needs)
Product promotion:
 Learn the features, benefits, options and applications for all catalogued products (Core – Professional/Technical + Exploring and Developing Needs)
 Produce New Product Development Proposals (NPDP’s) to communicate customer needs to HQ (Core – Professional/Technical)
 Promote New Products to all customers (Opportunity Selection + Proposing)
 Promote Simple, Engineered and Configured Special products to meet customer needs (Opportunity Selection + Proposing + Relationship Management)
 Actively participate in product campaigns and surveys as requested (Core – Company Awareness)
 Know the competition and report on their capability and activity within the sales area. (Core – Communication + Planning and Preparation)
 Deliver specification of products to the OEM suppliers of targeted end users
 Understand primary machine builders for the site/group and their automation preferences, coordinating activities locally, nationally and globally
 Understand current and future investment opportunities within target site/group. These need to be communicated locally, nationally and globally
 Actively identify and engage with Sector Integrators and Design Houses in order to influence CAPEX specification at an early stage
 Be aware of sector needs in terms of forth coming legislation and consumer needs
