Our client has a vacancy for an IT Business Analyst. This full time role is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract. As Business Analyst your primary role is to translate business requirements and processes which require IT changes into a business requirement specification, with support from the IT technical teams. The requirements will support the IT team in the creation of technical documentation, development or sourcing, and delivery of solutions either built on existing platforms or harnessing new technology. The role provides business analysis through requirements gathering, analysing and translating the business needs to IT by working closely with business and technical colleagues to service internal and external clients. The Business Analyst will ensure that the final solution is viable within the constraints of the time, budget, and quality, and delivers against the documented business requirements. The Business Analyst will, where necessary, facilitate, or assist in discussions to determine the deliverable project scope and planning. The Business Analyst will ensure the sign-off of the relevant documentation and maintain version control and traceability matrix of requirements. The Role • Participate in business change activities of medium to high risk and complexity • Review, analyse, evaluate and document as-is and to-be processes for new business opportunities. • Develop an analysis strategy using known BA techniques as part of the delivery plan and coordinate the development of business requirements documentation for large and complex initiatives, in a form which IT can easily consume. • Build process appropriate supporting documentation for IT consumption (user journey map, use case, user stories etc.) • Demonstrate business acumen and awareness of user needs through understanding the best fit of new opportunities within existing business model, services and technologies • Provide support to multi-functional groups and activities engaging with and representing internal customers, shareholders and regulatory bodies as required, which are relevant to the BA role and communicate and escalate those that are outside of the BA remit. • Focus on short term and long-term goals, and delivers business value to internal and external customers The Person • Evidence of process development and documentation. • Experience of Implementation planning and coordination • Experience of project focused software (e.g. MS Project, Teamwork, Basecamp etc.) • Understanding and awareness of cost estimations and operating models • Broad understanding of IT, platforms and technologies and the ability to translate business requirements into technical\functional specifications • Demonstrable experience in IT • A good understanding of analysis and delivery frameworks e.g. AGILE, WATERFALL, TOGAF, PRINCE2, ITIL, SIX SIGMA • A good understanding of testing techniques including A/B, Soak, Smoke, End to End, Regression cycles etc. • Able to assist the Test Manager in developing test plans and scripts • Demonstrable skills to work flexibly with ambiguous information Due to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application.
