Our client has a temporary vacancy for a Conveyancing Assistant to provide competent and efficient support to the conveyancing department ensuring full CQS compliance at all times. This role is ongoing. The role: Opening and maintaining files throughout the transaction; Managing files throughout the transaction in accordance with CQS procedures; Obtaining Title deeds, Land Registry Title and Plans; Preparing Contract documentation; Obtaining searches and replies to property questionnaires; Checking post and dealing with matters arising; Using Case Management system, Land Registry Portal, SDLT, Outlook, Excel and other computer programmes as appropriate; Ensuring clients are regularly kept up to date; Liaising with clients, estate agents and solicitors face to face or by telephone; Preparation of Completion Statements and Completing transactions; Registration of Title and dispatch of deeds to lender and client; Completion and submission of Stamping forms; Scanning, photocopying, faxing and filing when required; Locating files and Deeds as required; Other areas of the fee earner’s role where specific assistance is required; Requirements: An understanding of Conveyancing procedures to include filling in legal forms; Fully understand and manage a file’s CQS compliance and adhere to the strict policies and procedures; Ability to work independently, as well as in conjunction with the rest of the department; Demonstrates persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives; Delivers output to the required standard; Excellent telephone manner; Multi-task in a busy environment; Ability to prioritise; Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word ; Outstanding organisational skills; High level of accuracy and attention to detail; Excellent communication, ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels; Understand the importance of confidentiality; Able to use initiative; A commitment to maintain high client care standards; Steadiness under pressure; Reliable and dependable; Proactive; Flexible approach to work; Adaptable; Positive attitude.
