Private Client Solicitor

Full Time, Permanent Milton Keynes Negotiable Ref No: IPRS5659

Our client has a permanent opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to undertake fee earning work, working both independently, with minimal supervision and as a member of the team. You will maintain existing relations with the firm’s clients and assist and develop new relationships with third parties, at the same time provide a high quality legal service to the firm’s clients.

The role focus:
• Estate administration
• Will preparation
• Court of Protection work
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Trust administration and Declarations of Trusts
• Advising clients with regard to elderly client/vulnerable client issues
• Advising clients on estate planning for asset protection with focus on tax minimisation, care fees etc
• Estate related property work
• Attend local hospitals, hospices and care homes as required
• Attend monthly Age concern event
• Work closely with other departments within the firm on joint matters/projects

Requirements:
• 3+ years PQE
• Able to conduct own caseload with minimal supervision
• Knowledge and understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and other relevant regulatory requirements
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Commercial and financial awareness including ability to take responsibility for financial control of own client matters
• Able to develop positive relationships with clients and manage client expectations
• Effective prioritisation with ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• Marketing, networking and business development skills commensurate with the role
