Our client has a full time vacancy for a Remote Configuration Technician. This is a temporary contracted expected to last till February 2020. You will remotely configure and manage system upgrades to customer hardware over an AM Shift (03:45am – 12:45pm). In addition to the agreed hourly rate of pay this role carries a shift enhancement of £35 per day. You will need to be an experienced IT or EPoS Technician with knowledge of bespoke IT deployments and remote deployments. The Role: ▪ Connect to and manage system upgrades remotely to a number of PC’s and servers within a pre-defined timeline starting at 03:45am. ▪ Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics where required. ▪ Regular and accurate reporting to customers, maintaining records of both progress and issues alike. ▪ Behave as a contact point for onsite engineers, relaying information and providing guidance where required. ▪ Liaise with internal Project team and customer, relaying technical issues ▪ Manage personal tasks in line with schedule of works Requirements: ▪ Experience in the IT (or EPoS) sector with exposure to a multitude of networking, hardware and software deployments. ▪ Qualified to A-level IT, level 4 NVQ (IT) or similar equivalent. ▪ Experience in remote management and software deployment is paramount. ▪ Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, able to communicate concisely and clearly at all levels with both internal and external customers. ▪ Good understanding and/or working knowledge of Typical Windows Operating systems. ▪ Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM or similar is highly desired but not critical. ▪ General understanding / experience of scripting / programming is highly desirable but not critical. ▪ Ability to work to a high level of concentration while performing repetitive or basic configurations tasks. ▪ Excellent attention to detail. ▪ Personal time management is critical. ▪ High Microsoft Office literacy knowledge The hours of work are Monday – Thursday 03:45(AM) – 12:45(PM), inclusive of a one-hour daily break.
