Our client operates within the legal services sector and has a permanent vacancy for a Risk & Compliance Manager to ensure the Firm addresses and manages its operational risks and is compliant with its risk management obligations under the SRA Code of Conduct. They have regional offices, so you must hold a full driving license to be considered. The role • To support the Firm in maintaining Lexcel and ISO9001 accreditation, and to act as Quality Manager for the Firm. • To develop and implement, in conjunction with the COLP and the Board/PGLs, the policies and procedures which are required to comply with the Code of Conduct, Lexcel/ISO9001 and the Firm's operational risk management strategies. • To ensure continued compliance with ISO27001 (Information Security Management standard) and ISO22301 (Business Continuity Management Standard). • To keep abreast of changes in the Firm's regulatory regime and to assist the Board/PGLs by developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance at all times. • To act as Quality Manager for the Firm under Lexcel/ISO9001, including maintaining the Firm’s practice manual and policies including overseeing file reviews. • To assist the COLP on compliance matters including carrying out audits and providing information to the Board on compliance and risk management. • Assisting COLP, COFA and MLRO on compliance issues. • To assist the firm to ensure continued compliance with ISO27001 in conjunction/supported and assisted by/with COLP and IT Director. • Proactively to keep abreast of changes in the regulatory regime (including the SRA Code of Conduct). • To work with the COLP to develop policies, procedures and training to ensure compliance. • Provision/arrangement of training with COLP to partners and members of staff when policies and procedures are introduced or amended or for regulatory changes. • To co-ordinate file audits for the Firm and report to the COLP/Board on findings from those audits. • Provide support and guidance to all staff on compliance matters. • Supervising maintenance of regulatory breach registers. • To supervise the Administration Assistant in relation to risk and compliance duties. • To carry out risk and compliance inductions for new starters. • To assist the COLP in relation to the business continuity management system and ISO22301 accreditation. • To ensure the firm’s intranet is kept up to date with compliance related policies and procedures. Requirements Previous experience in similar risk/compliance role essential Excellent presentation skills Proven experience of setting up and implementing administrative systems Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to teach and disseminate knowledge IT literate Enthusiasm for the law and compliance Qualified solicitor or Barrister desirable Degree (Law degree desirable) Due to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application.
